Smith Business Services was established in 2004 as a sole-proprietorship. On June 16, 2009, the organizational structure changed to a limited liability company. Smith Business Services, LLC is a small, minority, woman-owned project management consulting firm headquartered in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania with a satellite location in Hagerstown, MD.

Smith Business Services, LLC draws on the expertise of the owner, Lisa Marie Smith, to provide professional management consultation and services.

Lisa Marie Smith





Lisa Marie Smith, owner and primary consultant of Smith Business Services, LLC, has over twenty-five years of experience in the contact center and project management professions. During Ms. Smith’s career, she managed the startup of four contact centers for three organizations. Ms. Smith's consulting experience spans a variety of industries including application development, customer service, education, finance, government contracting, information technology, manufacturing, market research, non-profit, retail, sales, social science research, and training.


Ms. Smith is a PMP certified project management professional, a PMI-SP certified scheduling professional, and a PMI-RMP certified project risk management professional through PMI. Ms. Smith holds Prince2 Practitioner certification. Ms. Smith is a MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) and a MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist) for Managing Projects with Microsoft Office Project 2007, for Enterprise Project Management with Microsoft Office Project Server 2007, and for Managing Projects with Microsoft Project 2010. Ms. Smith is a CSM (Certified Scrum Master). Ms. Smith also holds CompTIA™ IT Fundamentals+ and Project+ certifications and serves CompTIA™ as a subject matter expert for the Project+ certification.

Ms. Smith has an extensive educational background that includes master degrees in Business Administration, Project Management, Human Resource Management, Information Systems Management, and Network and Communications Management. Ms. Smith's education complements her strong plethora of experience in the project management and contact center industries. 




Ms. Smith achieved her Master of Business Administration with a Project Management concentration in June 2004 from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University. With this degree, Ms. Smith mastered the following objectives:

  • developed analytical skills in accounting and finance needed to conduct sound analyses and provide insightful interpretation of the financial implications of business decisions

Ms. Smith achieved the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) on March 4, 2006, certification number 320083. With this credential, Ms. Smith demonstrated a proficient level of project management leadership skills through education and experience.


Ms. Smith achieved the
Project Management Institute Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) on June 16, 2008, certification number 1209298. On May 5, 2008, the PMI-SP credential was introduced, and Ms. Smith was within the first one hundred candidates to sit for the examination. With this credential, Ms. Smith demonstrated a proficient level of project schedule development and maintenance. 


Ms. Smith achieved the
Project Management Institute Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) on February 24, 2011, certification number 1392043. With this credential, Ms. Smith is recognized as having unique expertise and competency in assessing and identifying project risks, mitigating threats and capitalizing on opportunities, while still possessing basic skills in all areas of project management.


Ms. Smith became a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) on May 8, 2012, validating her IT professional and developer technical expertise.



Ms. Smith achieved the 
Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS): Managing Projects with Microsoft Office Project 2007 certification on June 13, 2008, the Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS): Enterprise Project Management with Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 certification on August 22, 2008. Ms. Smith achieved the Managing Projects with Microsoft Project 2010 on May 8, 2012. With these certifications, Ms. Smith demonstrated her mastery in managing projects using Microsoft Office Project 2007 and Microsoft Project 2010, along with enterprise project management using Microsoft Office Project Server 2007.


Ms. Smith became a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from Scrum Alliance the February 9, 2016. With this credential, Ms. Smith confirmed her ability to protect the Scrum Team from internal and external distractions to enable the Scrum Team to perform at their best.



Ms. Smith achieved the CompTIA Project+ Certification on September 18, 2008. This certification validates Ms. Smith's project management skills and her expertise with the entire project life cycle from initiation and planning through execution, acceptance, support and closure.

IT Fundamentals+

Ms. Smith achieved the CompTIA™ IT Fundamentals+ on December 13, 2017. This certification confirms that Ms. Smith's possesses the essential IT skills and knowledge to perform tasks commonly performed by advanced end-users and entry-level IT professionals, including:
